Role and responsibilities:
Managing overall operations of the company. Allocate responsibilities to various '''departments and managers of the company and define their roles. Ensure overall coordination between various departments and personals to maximise the customer satisfaction and profitability.
Represent the company for all purposes, including the legal compliance purposes.
Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals. Liaise with customers and suppliers and ensure overall cordial and mutually beneficial relations.
Differentiate between various rice varieties and qualities and accordingly ascertain buying and selling price of rice with precision.
Develops and implements strategic marketing plans and sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.
Develops and manages sales/marketing operating budgets.
Develops and recommends product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends.
Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations.
Directs product research and development.
Essential qualifications:
In-depth knowledge of various Indian rice varieties (Ponni rice, Sona Massuri, Lachkari kolam, Basmati 1121, Basmati Sughandha etc.) prevalently eaten by South-Asian Diaspora in Singapore.
The peculiar nature of job requires through practical experience, apart from theoretical knowledge. The candidate must have nine plus years experience in relevant field. Candidate also must be able to recognise the quality attributes of rice grain for proper buying and selling price discovery.
Candidates with bachelor degree in Humanities along with Computer degree/diploma will be preferred.
Candidate must possess class 3 driving license.
This is essentially not an office job, but a field work job. Candidate must be ready to travel island wide and sometimes overseas, especially India.
