We are looking to recruit an action-oriented problem solver with a Masters or Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or Software Engineering with a strong focus on embedded electronic systems. You should have a minimum of 6 to 10 years’ experience in Quality Engineering and/or Electronics Design of consumer electronic devices. You should also possess an analytical and inquisitive mindset with the ability to independently address technical problems where few precedents exist. Knowledge of statistics applied to reliability testing and sampling plan in a large volume production environment, with a Six Sigma Black Belt is a plus. You should have the ability to tailor technical message to various audience, have well-developed interpersonal and communications skills essential for working in multi-functional teams, possess cultural awareness and sensitivity and be able to interact and collaborate with colleagues and development partners in a multi-national environment. RISE TO THE CHALLENGE Philip Morris International Research Laboratories Pte Ltd is seeking a talented individual to join our Electronic Devices Hub team. You will be responsible for planning and executing activities for Design Verification as well as failure investigation activities on Reduced Risk Products (RRP) through the application of scientific/engineering skills and knowledge. Responsibilities: • Design Verification (DV) : o Develop DV master plan & specific test plans related to the functional area; maintain plans, timetables and resource requirements to ensure that all activities meet the overall plan to demonstrate product compliance to Design Input requirements. o Produce and review technical documents to enable the product to be effectively transferred to the manufacturing process. o Develop test cases and Design of Experiments (DoE) for functional products characterization in order to ensure products/components meet quality requirements. o Serve as technical or statistical resource for relevant aspects of projects/processes o Define Critical to Quality Material Attributes (CQMA) and associated test plans. o Liaise with operation team to agree on Process Control Strategy (e.g. ORT plan). o May coordinate and develop internal consumer panel activities for device design verification activities and for design improvement. • Defect Management: o Liaise with subject matter experts in a timely manner to address any deficiencies or defects found during testing. o Maintain the defect tracking system and ensuring all fixed defects are properly tested and closed. o Liaise with operation team and external partners to ensure CAPAs are implemented in timely manner. o May develop and recommend technical alternatives and design improvements. o Develop the fault tree for new products ensuring a smooth handover to quality and markets. o Support from technical point of view changes to existing running production and related components enforcing the global internal change management process. • Risk Assessment: o Perform design risk assessment (design FMEA) of the product in collaboration with cross-functional team. o Liaise with operation team to transfer design FMEA outcomes for process FMEA. o May participate to process FMEA sessions. • Quality Management System (QMS): o Create/maintain Procedures (SOP) related to his/her functional area. o Assist in best practices (BEP) creation/maintenance. • Laboratory Operations: o Investigate appropriate new technologies to improve existing test methods. o Liaise with external partners on the technical aspects relating to test equipment. o Develop test methods for functional products characterization. o Develop test method validation plan as required. • Exploratory Activity: o Protect intellectual property through patenting process.
