Director Commercial Strategy Projects Jobs Vacancy in Global Singapore Jobs Details:

As part of the APAC commercial leadership team, you will play a lead role in supporting the APAC Vice President of APAC Sales and 6 Commercial Directors to develop & execute a winning APAC revenue growth strategy and lead the successful implementation of assigned commercial projects.

The Impact: The APAC commercial team is aiming to double our revenue from the region over the next five years. We will need the right strategy, people and supporting systems in place to meet this goal. This role, reporting to the Vice President of APAC Sales will devise and implement commercial strategies that support our commercial transformation agenda, focusing on improved outcomes for both our customers and our people, growth in our commercial business and a diversification of our bank.

We will grow the business through improving our focus on:

  • developing understanding and opportunities through customer intimacy,
  • target cross sell and upsell opportunities within our customers by developing clear value propositions that address our customers business opportunities and challenges,
  • actively targeting new logo acquisitions through deeper market coverage, and
  • providing the right tools, training and culture for our people to succeed in.

Responsibilities:

In partnership with the APAC Vice President of APAC Sales, 6 Commercial Directors and other Platts stakeholders…

  • Create insights that allow us to choose more of the right bets - ANALYSIS

Create a credible, actionable APAC commercial strategy for Platts that shows a clear path to doubling our revenue in the region in the next five years.

Fuel sales growth by finding opportunities through ad hoc research in to industries, markets, demographics, trends, sales results, and other data.

Support APAC and regional sales leadership team (and their teams) with market and customer insight that will deliver greater levels of personalization, targeted value propositions and strong points of view.

Deepen our understanding of competitor offerings, including specifications, market share, pricing, and promotional materials to better inform our sales approach.

  • Enable the business – BETTER EXECUTION

Drive and lead cross functional commercial projects such as Asia New Business Initiative, Asia LNG Commercial Taskforce and New Logo Sales Process Project.

Partner with marketing to drive impactful campaigns/activities that align with the commercial strategy building a greater awareness of Platts in the market place, focusing on core growth areas and delivering targeted marketing activities

Continue to define/deliver/standardize reporting that works up and down the organization i.e. gives management what they need and is actionable for reps, for example;

  • CRM health / gap analysis
  • Rep activity / productivity
  • Account focus
  • Pipeline

Partner with channel, product & innovation groups to drive emerging opportunities for revenue growth with the development of collateral that is personalized and targeted at a customer level.

Work with APAC leadership to define and build team culture that matches desired values and behaviors.

Requirements:

  • Degree with minimum 10 - 15 years of successful individual sales and managerial experience, preferably in commodity, financial information provider or IT service provider role
  • Familiarity with Platts business
  • Strong technical skills; a deep understanding of and track record in: o Developing commercial strategies which draw on well-grounded information and experience

o Application of strategic consulting techniques/frameworks to structure, analyses and communicate

o Delivering commercial initiatives or other relevant projects from conception to successful implementation

o Problem solving capabilities; from framing the challenge through to solution implementation

o Excellent commercial insight and researching competencies

o Financial analysis skills including business modelling and valuation techniques

  • Management and interpersonal skills, demonstrated abilities: o Stakeholder management: building strong, cooperative and productive relationships in the key teams involved in the planning and decision processes

o Engagement: able to operate at a senior level and influence key decision makers on sometimes difficult topics through constructive communication and interpersonal skills

o Team player: delivering results through successful teamwork, both within the team and across the group

o Critical assessment: thinking critically and challenging ideas/assumptions constructively and collaboratively

o Independence: confident with ambiguity, working independently yet maintaining stakeholder engagement and ability to execute successfully with discipline

o Effective communication: facilitation of meetings and ability to synthesize complex information and relaying/presenting it clearly and concisely

o Proactive attitude: both to the delivery of projects to tight timescales and to developing the team

o Creative and pragmatic: finding solutions to challenging problems

o Knowledge management: methodological in structuring work, including file/folder organisation

o Excellent communication skills, both written (presentations, reports, documents), other languages would be an advantage

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong analytical capabilities; demonstrates drive, initiative, energy and sense of urgency
  • Strong personal integrity, excellent interpersonal skills and work ethics
  • Proven success in doing business in APAC is a must
  • Broad understanding of the energy & commodity industry including understanding the personas of front, mid and back office functions, as well as analysts is preferred
  • Commitment to drive innovation and change management
  • Competent with systems (Zuora, SalesForce, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Prime Resource Group (PRG) Diagnostic Sales Methodology
  • Travelling may be required around the region
  • Desire and flexibility to learn, grow and excel in an ever-changing environment
